SCALES AND BALANCES, ALL 26 LOCATIONS

Every System Scale location, is ISO/IEC 17025 accredited for scale and balance calibration, from milligram-resolution laboratory balances up to 200,000 lb truck and rail scales. Wherever you have a System Scale location nearby, you have accredited calibration. This is not limited to a lab or a handful of sites.

BROADER INSTRUMENT SCOPE, MULTIPLE DEDICATED LABS

Beyond scales, our dedicated calibration labs, hold accreditation across a wider range of instrument categories and ranges, including:

  • Electrical. DC and AC voltage up to 1,000 V, current, resistance up to 1 GΩ, capacitance, and frequency up to 10 MHz. Multimeters, oscilloscopes (up to 600 MHz bandwidth), and RTD and thermocouple simulation across standard J, K, T, E, R, S, B, and N type sensors.
  • Length and dimensional metrology. Calipers and micrometers up to 84 inches, height gages up to 40 inches, gage blocks, ring and plug gages, optical comparators, surface plates, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Thermodynamic. Temperature probes and indicators from -200°C to 1,450°C, infrared thermometers up to 1,200°C, and relative humidity sensors from 5% to 95% RH.
  • Force, torque, and pressure. Force gages up to 100,000 lbf, torque tools and transducers up to 2,000 lbf·ft, and pressure gages up to 10,000 psig.
  • Hardness testing. Rockwell (HRA, HRB, HRC, and superficial scales) and Brinell hardness testers, plus durometers across Shore A through D.
  • Acoustics and chemical quantities. Sound level meters up to 114 dB, pH and conductivity meters up to 100,000 µS/cm, and viscosity measuring equipment up to 60,000 cSt.
  • Time and frequency. Stopwatches, tachometers up to 200,000 rpm, and frequency sources and meters up to 10 MHz.

Ranges above reflect the combined scope across our dedicated labs and represent common capabilities, not every parameter on file. Exact ranges and uncertainties for a specific instrument are listed on our full scope of accreditation. We are using “multiple dedicated labs” deliberately rather than naming a fixed number, since our lab footprint is actively expanding.

WHAT ACCREDITATION MEANS FOR YOU

ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation means an independent body, ANAB, has verified our technical competence and quality management system for the specific calibrations listed on our scope of accreditation. It is a defined, auditable scope tied to specific parameters and ranges, re-verified on a schedule, not granted once and forgotten.

Every calibration we perform inside our accredited scope comes with NIST traceability. The reference standards we use to calibrate your equipment are themselves traceable back to the National Institute of Standards and Technology through an unbroken chain of comparisons. When a calibration is in scope, the certificate we issue is issued under our ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Read more on what ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation actually means.

OUTSIDE OUR ACCREDITED SCOPE

Not every piece of measurement equipment in your plant falls inside any single lab’s accredited scope, and that is true industry-wide. When something falls outside ours, we manage it through our national network of accredited partner labs and stay your single point of contact for scheduling, pickup, and results. You manage one relationship, not several. See our multi-site calibration partner model for how this works

Frequently Asked Questions

It means an accreditation body, in our case ANAB, has independently verified that a lab has the technical competence and quality system to perform specific calibrations correctly and consistently. It is specific to a defined scope, not a blanket claim about a company’s overall quality.

Yes. System Scale is accredited by ANAB, the ANSI National Accreditation Board, for calibration at all 26 of our locations, with additional accredited disciplines at our dedicated labs.

Traceable means the calibration can be linked back to a national standard through a documented chain of comparisons. Accredited means an outside body has verified the lab’s competence to perform that traceable calibration correctly. Traceability is about the measurement chain. Accreditation is about who is checking the lab doing the calibrating.

Our current scope of accreditation is posted at /scope. ANAB also maintains a public directory where anyone can independently confirm our accreditation status and scope.

We calibrate it through our national partner lab network and stay your single point of contact throughout. You don’t lose accredited traceability, and you don’t have to manage a second vendor to get it.
